Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You wake the patient and attempt to get permission to perform the additional operation.

While this is possible, it is generally considered bad judgment. A patient who is under is there for a reason.

If you wake him up, he is going to be in severe pain. He might even be in enough pain to go into shock.

The patient's heart rate could shoot up, his blood pressure skyrocket and several complications could become possible, including losing the patient.
