Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You tell your boss you want to be put on a different assignment.

You explain the programmers are making changes too frequently for you and your crew to do the job.

Your boss is disappointed. She tells you she put you in charge of this particular assignment because she thought you could keep pace with all the changes. She reminds you of the importance of timing in the software industry, and says you'll have to remain flexible to keep up with the changes.

"It can be like trying to change a tire on a moving vehicle," says technical writer Tom Lindsay of writing documentation for software still in development.

"You have to be fast, flexible and willing to rethink things," he says.
