Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You tell the customer about both options.

This is the real-life decision made by horticulturist Leanne Abbot. "As important as I think organic options are, you can't force other people to take your point of view," says Abbot.

"I try to show people respect by giving them the option to choose for themselves."

While he wants you to make a recommendation, you think the decision between the products is one the customer should make on his own.

You tell the customer about both the chemical fungicide and organic solutions to this problem. You explain to him the environmental risks involved in using the fungicide, but also mention that it works faster than the organic formula.

The customer agrees to try the organic formula first, and if he doesn't see any results, he will use the fungicide. After a few days, he calls you to report that most of the mildew on his rose bushes has disappeared.
