Real-Life Communication -- Solution

You are a stage manager using your kit to answer last-minute requests from the cast. This is how you might help them out:

  1. An actor comes to you. He has forgotten to remove his contacts before the performance. What can you give him to help out?

You have a spare contact case and saline solution available for him. If he needs to clean his eyeglasses before the show, you have eyeglass cleaner available as well.

  2. An actor complains of a sore throat. Is there anything you can give him before the show starts?

You have cough drops, throat spray and pain relievers. You could even brew him a cup of tea.

  3. An actress's black leather boot has ripped along the toe. Is there anything in your kit that will help?

This is tricky. You might be able to use your needle and thread to sew up the shoe. If this doesn't work, you could use black electrical tape to tape up the boot.

Good luck getting your performance underway! "The awestruck look on an actor's face when he asks for a cough drop and one appears in his hand is priceless," says Carissa Dollar, a stage manager.
