Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You decide to tell your superiors.

The company decides not to pull the plug on the work but to speed things up. You're given three new engineers and your manager is told to approve any overtime hours necessary. Your boss also tells you to let her know if you need any additional resources.

This was the choice made by Tatiana With, a manager of biomedical hardware research.

"I really agonized," says With. "I didn't want to break the hearts of my teammates and disappoint the company. But in the end, we hit market about the same time as our competitor and we have a very strong market share. It was the best decision I've ever made. Maybe that's why it was one of the hardest."
