Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You rescue the animal.

If you leave it, it could be dead my morning. You cage it and take it back to the aquarium. It is examined and fed and looks to be perfectly healthy.

The next morning, you go back to the rocks where you found the pup. There is no sign of its mother. That is not surprising and does not really mean anything. You were just hoping you might be lucky enough to see her.

Your supervisor goes over the event with you. She tells you that there is no way of knowing if you made the right decision. She encourages you to phone in for a team opinion the next time you are faced with a choice like that. She carries a pager and expects to be contacted when needed.
