Real-Life Communication -- Solution

You're not sure that your idea went over so well with management, and so you carefully answer the questions they have about your design concepts for a new car called the Starline Groove.

These are the answers you provide:

  1. Who is the target customer of this car?

The target customer is a driver who has a family or children, wants an economical family car, but still wants to maintain his individuality and feel groovy.

  2. What are the standard interior features in the Groove?

Dual airbags, a lockable 60-40 rear seat and rear heating ducts will be standard interior features in the Groove.

  3. What engine features make this a family car?

Under the hood, there will be the economical 1.6-liter overhead cam four-cylinder engine that develops 106 horsepower at 6,200 rpm.

  4. What extra features are in the Groove Plus?

On the Starline Groove Plus, expect more racing stripes, power windows, cruise control, a tachometer, a better stereo system and heated outside mirrors.

"Designers need to be able to read and follow instructions, but most of all they need to be able to communicate their ideas with others," says Speirs.
