As an English professor, you are teaching 20th-century British literature. You have asked your class to read D.H. Lawrence's classic, Women in Love. Over the past few weeks, you discussed the book with them.

Now, you sit at the front of the lecture hall while your students write an in-class essay on the book. When they are finished, you will have to mark and grade their papers.

"We don't use much math, but we do have to work with percentages to figure out grades," says Carol Gerson, an English professor. "Some professors do all this with complicated spreadsheets on the computer, but some of us still do the marking by hand."

Here are some of your students' marks:

Seamus -- 4.5/9 for style and 7/9 for content
Janette -- 6.7/9 for style and 8/9 for content
Mario -- 5.5/9 for style and 7.5/9 for content

What are their total marks and what are their marks as percentages?
