Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You tell the doctor he must change his appearance.

After all, it's your job to help your client get his message across in the best way possible. This includes what they say, how they say it and how they appear when they're saying it.

This is the real-life decision that Walker would make.

"You have to figure out how hard or how gentle you have to be with each individual client," says Walker. "But appearance is important. You have to figure out the best way to tell this person to trim the beard and change the toupee.

"Clients come to me and say that they want the spokesperson to shave his beard, but they don't want to say anything themselves," he adds. "It's my job to tell that person if it is detracting from the message."

As a media trainer, you have to be experienced in the art of communication. There are many ways to tell a person that he might need to change his appearance. While not being easy, it can be done in a sensitive manner.
