Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You take the T-bone to the lab and perform an inspection of Bruno's Packing Plant.

The lab confirms that there is not one, but five hairs embedded in the surface of the T-bone. You're shocked at what you see in the packing department at Bruno's the next morning.

One meat packer is blowing a giant bubble with his gum as he wraps a set of ribs. Another is taking a smoke break in the packing room and dropping ashes on the floor. And yet another is wheezing and sneezing into the open air as she packs. To top off this ugly mess, nobody is wearing a hair net!

Just think what you might find once you've gone through vermin control and potential contamination sources. You've got a long day ahead, but you definitely made the right decision to have the T-bone inspected and see what lay behind the closed doors of Bruno's Packing Plant.

Ivor Wright is a regional coordinator with a food inspection agency. "You have to be able to make decisions on the line, quick decisions," he says.
