Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You wait to speak with your supervisor.

This is the real-life decision that Ron O'Connor would make. He is a heavy equipment operator.

Digging and cutting into underground wires could cause serious injuries and even death to the equipment operator. It isn't a decision that can be made lightly.

"The decisions that have to do with wires and figuring out where they are are left up to the supervisors," says O'Connor. "You have to wait and do what they say. You follow their orders and nobody else's."

It's better to err on the side of safety. "If you don't think a situation is safe, then you shouldn't proceed."
