Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You send the suitcase to the airport in a taxi.

This is your first choice. But it is not without complications.

Diane Clement was in a similar situation. She remembers her call to the local taxi company. "They could not guarantee their arrival time at the hospital to pick up the suitcase. Nor could they ensure that the suitcase would reach the airport prior to the patient's plane departure."

And who would pay for the taxi? This had to be decided. If the taxi didn't make it in time, he would have to return to the hospital with the suitcase. Then he would expect to be paid for the trip to and from the airport -- double the charge.

Clement was prepared for these variables. If the patient was unwilling to take the risk or pay for the taxi, there were other options.

But as far as getting the medication to the patient quickly, this was the best solution. And the patient agreed.
