Real-Life Math -- Solution

As any editor will tell you, getting writers to hand their stories in on time is a constant problem.

You need to write an e-mail to all of your writers explaining to them that their stories need to be in on time, no exceptions. You must be firm yet friendly; you don't want to scare them off. Keep your message under 200 words.

"Communication skills are probably the most important thing about this job," says editor Jason Schreurs. "It's something I constantly struggle with, but each day on the job I seem to get better and better at it. Being direct, clear and concise is pretty key when you are an editor."
