Education Level

Education training and experience are required at different levels for success in different occupations.

Bachelor's degree

Most radiation therapists complete programs that lead to an associate's degree or bachelor's degree in radiation therapy. With additional education and certification, therapists can become medical dosimetrists. Dosimetrists are responsible for calculating the correct dose of radiation that is used in the treatment of cancer patients.

Extra Requirements

Certifications for radiation technologists are available from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). For specific licensure requirements, contact the state's health board.
