Insider Info

Braille transcribers generally fall into two categories: those who work in a braille production company and those who work freelance on a contract basis.

People who work from home are often paid per page of braille produced. Per-page pay varies depending on the employer.

Once braille transcribers have six months of experience, they can take a course to qualify for mathematics transcription. Braille transcribers can also advance their careers by getting certified in more specialties, including proofreading and music.
