Real-Life Decision Making

You are behind schedule today. Three clients are coming to pick up their vehicles in an hour and you feel stressed. You feel somewhat relieved as you finish one of the three vehicles, but now you have a feeling of dread as you stare at the 4 x 4 next on your list.

This vehicle obviously just came back from some serious off-road driving. The car is hidden beneath layers of thick mud, and the interior is covered with dust and dirt. It takes you several minutes of scrubbing before you even recognize the color of the car, but the car soon starts to reveal its true identity.

You work at the quickest pace possible, while paying close attention to details to ensure customer satisfaction. "You only need one careless mistake, or one simple error to lose a valuable customer," says auto detailer Tommy Nguyen. "If customers are not satisfied with your job, they can always go to somebody else next time."

Finally, you complete the last finishing touches to the car. You hop into the driver's seat to move the vehicle back into the parking lot.

In the midst of all the excitement and satisfaction you are getting from your job, you neglect to pay attention to what is in your rear-view mirror. Bang! You back into the huge commercial metal garbage container in the back alley, leaving a deep scratch and dent in the rear bumper.

Your heart misses a beat, and you stare in anxiety as thoughts scramble through your head. What do you do?
