Real-Life Decision Making

You and a team of fellow geophysicists are working for a petroleum company. You are looking for new deposits.

You've been working for months and you feel you might really have something. Your research tells you an oil-bearing carbonate reef is located approximately 10,000 feet below the surface.

You're almost sure there's a big oil deposit there, but you'd like to call in another engineer for their opinion before you recommend drilling an exploration well.

However, your supervisor is insisting you present your findings now. The find could be worth over $20 million and the company wants to move on this as soon as possible.

What are you going to do?
