Insider Info

Additional Information

Most chocolatiers learn their trade by attending culinary schools and volunteering with other chocolatiers. However, as the field becomes more popular, more and more chocolatiers will be required to have a bachelor's degree in some aspect of culinary arts. A bachelor's degree in business is good, too.

Chocolatier Michael Collins says that being a chocolatier is fun. "But you have to go and find out what you like. Spend some time talking to the people who work in the industry. Equipment companies especially, have the information that will help you get moving."
