Real-Life Decision Making

As a freelance information broker, you really are your own boss. However, you still consider yourself a professional. In most professions, there is a written or unwritten code of conduct.

You are out with your pal John having dinner at a nice restaurant. It's a Friday night and you're both having a good time talking and laughing. Out of the blue, John asks you: "What about that old guy Mr. Keel? What's the deal with him?"

You are confused: "What about him? What's to tell?"

"Well, aren't you doing some work for him? What kind of work are you doing for him?"

One of the stipulations of the information broker code of conduct is to respect your clients' confidentiality. It's bad form to go around blabbing about your clients and what kind of work you're doing for them.

But it's just harmless conversation! Or is it?

What do you do?
