You are a food scientist working in the lab at a milk production plant. When milk is pasteurized and packaged for consumption, vitamins A and D are also added. In order to make sure that the milk is up to standard, you test random samples of the product.

In the lab, you are testing samples of milk for vitamin content. You go through the first batch of samples and find that the vitamin content is exactly as it should be. You mark this finding in your records.

You test the next batch of samples and find that the vitamin content in the milk has dropped by a very slight amount. You record this in your book, and begin testing the third batch.

In the third batch, you discover that none of the vitamins that should be in the milk are present.
