Additional Information

Primate researchers can have a university education in a wide variety of background subjects. The most popular are anthropology, psychology, biology, zoology and veterinary science. Primate researchers often have a doctorate degree in one of these areas, specializing in primate studies.

Undergraduates can study in any number of scientific fields to prepare for postgraduate studies in primates. However, it is a good idea to have some focus on biology and the evolutionary process. A knowledge of computers, statistics and good communication skills won't hurt either.
