Lynda Sanderson works as a product development specialist for a food technology center. She has a bachelor's degree in food science. However, she says the food technology center for which she works employs people with degrees in chemistry or biology as well.

Some institutions, like Kansas State University, offer programs specifically in sensory analysis.

The Institute of Food Technology (IFT) offers a number of scholarships to those who want to pursue degrees in food science.
